HANDWRITING - Good for the Brain?

Interestingly enough I just found this video which was only came out on the Tuesday. It came out on the American website Marketwatch which is holds all kind of financial and stock details, but here there has apparently been new research to show that handwriting is good for us when it comes to learning. That the physical application of writing can really help not just children but adults to in order to help retain and store the information learnt.

The video is entitled, ‘Write on: Wendy Bounds discusses the fading art of handwriting, pointing out that new research shows it can benefit children's motor skills and their ability to compose ideas and achieve goals throughout life’

The video talks a lot about the use of handwriting, now as we're in the digital age, and how much it is fading. There is this apparent new research, which to me seems like that would be a known thing anyhow. This is simply because different people do learn in different ways and I am sure that we all haven't grown up having to write down all information taught to us for no reason.

However because apparently it can be proven now, is something that might bring handwriting back a certain amount even if it just digital, which to me seems completely redundant as that cannot be the correct method in order to learn how to write, digital applications are completely different to simply using a pen and paper. I don't think digital applications will ever replace the simplicity and tradition of pen and paper, and I hope it never does.
