I found some of Adam Hayes work in the book Hand Job, and really liked the scratched into photograph. Drawing straight over the top with these edgy scratches showing white, producing both type and image, it works really well- there is the immediate communication from the photo, but the subtlety of the scratches over the top are great. Working the type in, from the negative it becomes very well linked as the type shows the true background.
